Gites

A gîte is the French concept of self catering holiday accommodation in a special rural setting. It can be a cottage, apartment, converted outbuilding, stable, barn or an orangery. In each case with its own front door and space but situated within proximity of the owner’s principal residence.

Gites de France used to conjure up on image of rural, basic holiday homes, where you had to pay extra for the bed linen rental, for the heating and lighting  you used during your stay (a surprising & unexpected part of the bill) with the requirement to clean up the gite at the end of your stay… This is no more!

Gîtes at Chateau Rieutort are renovated historical buildings,  full of modern furnishings, fittings and equipment. Air conditioning, Smart TVs, music systems, a projector or a jacuzzi are examples of what you may find in gîtes offered by Rieutort. Bathrooms have italian walk in showers. Kitchens are fully equipped. Each of the 7 gites of the Chateau offers outdoor space with garden furniture and a BBQ. Hair dryers, towels and all linen are provided. The beds will be made for you before your arrival and a welcoming basket will be awaiting you too.
